Rope Cable Attachment for Triceps Pushdowns / Pressdowns / Extensions and Hammer Curls
The FitBar FP-5.2 Triceps Pushdown Rope attachment will be the best triceps rope you will ever use. Its an upgraded and heavy duty triceps rope, which is a staple in both commercial gyms and home gyms that have cable machines or cable pulleys on their squat rack / pull up bar. Typical triceps ropes have a 1” diameter rope with a rubber stopper at the ends. This arrangement puts excessive compressive pressure on your pinky finger, since significant load must go through your pinky (the remaining load is transferred through your grip).
The FP-5.2 Triceps Pushdown Rope incorporates a cylindrical rubber-coated steel grip with our signature tacky grip and a ball end at the end of each rope. The rope is smaller than a standard triceps rope, but it is high-quality and is high-capacity (5000 lb tensile strength). This arrangement allows for a much more ergonomic placement of the hand on the grip as opposed to a traditional triceps rope. The rope itself is much more flexible than the standard rope found on other triceps ropes.
When used in conjunction with a cable pulley or cable machine, this attachment can be used to do many triceps exercises. With the pulley at the high-position you can do triceps pushdowns / triceps pressdowns. With the pulley at the mid position, you can perform seated cable rows, or with just one handle in hand, a triceps kickback. With the pulley at the low position and facing the cable pulley, you can do hammer curls. At any pulley position and with your back towards the cable machine, you can perform a triceps extensions. As the pulley gets lower, you will need raise your elbows.
As with all triceps exercises, we recommend keeping your elbows in tight with your body, keep your elbows in place, and rotate your forearms about your elbow.
The FP-5.2 Triceps Rope is 18” long from thimble to end of grip. The thimble is heavy-duty steel, and we include a heavy-duty spring clip with each unit. It pairs nicely with our FP-3.1 Lat Cable Pulley and the FP-4.1 Cable Row Pulley.
