Pull Up Handles
FitBar Pull Up Handles provide the capability to perform neutral grip pull ups on straight pull up bars. Many of the functional fitness, Crossfit, and OCR gyms today have rows of straight bar pull up racks. Pull ups are a fundamental exercise for OCR athletes, Ninja Course Warriors, and folks looking to build upper body strength.
Straight pull up bars provide the ability to do pronated grip (overhand grip) and supinated grip (underhand grip) pull ups, however, having the ability to do different pull up grips on the bar enables additional exercise variation, further strengthening your fitness regimen. Neutral grip pull ups are a fundamental starting point before moving onto more advanced moves such as wide grip pull ups or kipping pull ups. These are excellent when paired with the FitBar Doorway Pull Up Bar.
Rotating Pull Up Handles
The HG-1 Pull Up Handles are unique in that they utilize flexible rope, allowing them to be used as rotating pull up handles. This allows you to go from pronated to supinated grip while performing the pull up.
The FitBar Pull Up Handles utilize a high-performance foam grip over a steel tube, with a rope that ties to an S-hook for placement on the pull up bar. The S hook can be placed on any 1.5” or smaller pull up bar. The S hook includes a plastic sleeve at the bar interface so that you can perform wide grip pull ups without concern of the grip sliding on the bar. The unique design of our Pull Up Handles allows the user to rotate their forearms while performing pull ups, what we call twist-grip pull ups. The foam grip also rotates about the rope, forcing the user to utilize more of their pinch grip while holding the rotating pull up grip. Yet another pull up grip variation is to angle the hand grip slightly so that it is not horizontal to the ground. In addition to the rope Pull Up Handles, we offer the steel Neutral Grips, plastic Pull Up Ball grips, and Suspension Straps which can be used for Australian Pull Ups, as well as suspension training.
The FitBar Pull Up Handles provide many opportunities for the user to perform pullups using different pull up grips. Another minor benefit to the using the Pull Up Handles for pull ups is that they effectively lower the pull point for the user. For shorter gym members this is a benefit, as it eliminates the need to stand on a stool, or have a special lower pull up bar for the user. The same benefit can be achieved at home when the Pull Up Handles are used in conjunction with a door jamb pull up bar, which is inherently low. Since the FitBar Pull Up Handles effectively lower the pull up bar 11”, it is a great way for children to start doing pull ups without the safety concern of the child standing on a chair to reach the bar.
If you are tall and or are interested in a shorter grip handle, check out our Neutral Grips page. The FitBar Pull Up Handles are engineered for high capacity and long life. We have had handles in service for many years of constant use with little signs of wear. Each handle is rated with a 200 lbs and they are sold in pairs.
